I bought an original from you (Indian Chief) in 1978 when you lived in El Cajon (I think) You were referred by Don Gabriel International gifts. We love it and have it hanging in our family room. Is there a wab site that can tell us what it is worth now?
Marco says:
Hi Chief, sorry, I would have to see the picture and know the size. My usual N.A. subjects are 18"X24" and priced at$3000.00. Amount of detail also a factor in determining price. Check my gallery for similar and take it from there.

Yvonne says:
I admire your work since I found your website some months ago. I found Kristina Nelson by accident on internet. I couldn't believe how beautiful work she was creating with crayons. I love crayons and I wanted to try if I could do something as good as her. Her website drove me to yours and I was even more impressed. I try to paint with crayons, but I wrote Tiona to ask a few things about the technique and the right paper. It seems that crayons need a lot of dedication and patience to get really good at it. I have done a few things with them and I love the media. I have a degree in Graphic Design but my biggest dream is to do art for a living and be a professional artist. I love art, makes me happy and fulfilled like nothing else in this world. I stop painting for decades because I was dissapointed on the competitions in my country. You have been an inspiration for me and I'm thankful for it. If you ever think about getting another student I'll be happy to be that person.
Marco says:
Hi Yvonne, I admire your dedication in trying to fulfill your dreams. Kristina is right, dedication is the right word. It takes time and practice, pratice, practice. Time is catching up with me andthere won't be time for another student. Thank you for your interest.

Leon says:
Hi Don - enjoyed looking at your artwork. A friend sent me your info via an e-mail. INCREDIBLE!!! Qill show my wife who is an aspiring artist. She is from Colombia and has a famous artist in her family. By the way, she was trying to practice drawingwith crayons and said it was difficult because they are "waxy" and smear a lot. I will show her your site. And hints on the smearing? Are your crayola tips always sharpened? Do you draw the pictures first? Thanks - Leon
Marco says:
Hi Leon, have your wife read the "comments" section on my home page. Lots of info there.

teresa says:
i have also been creating art with crayons. i am in the very early stages of developing techniques. i am curious what you might use if anything, to preserve your art. i use melted crayon and notice cracking. i would like to use a clear gloss. any ideas?
Marco says:
Teresa, crayons are made with pigment and wax. Wax is a by product of oil. Wax is a great preservative. I use that wax forto preserve my work. If you noticed the pictue of the hippo in the gallery section of my web site, it was done when I was in the first grade. 76 years ago. OK? Melting is probably part of your problem.

Susan says:
WOW! I am very impressed with your art. I can't believe the depth and percision of your work. I am a porcelain artist who appreciates all type of art. This is very special
Marco says:
Thank you Susan, having done a collector plate ,I can also appreciate your talent.

David G says:
I love to dabble in art, but I lose momentum periodically. Well every once in a while someone comes along and inspires me to press forward. I have to say, you have done that for me. Is there any way to get a list of colors that you use in your general skin tones for your renderings of Native figures?
Marco says:
Hi David, good to know I got you back to the drawing board. To answer your question. Burnt Orange for base color. From there, look through the box of 64's that will lighten and darken the base. If you have the talent, you can work it out from there. Good luck.

Tasha says:
Hi Don.... I'm absolutely in love with your work :D You inspired me to dig up my old crayons and start drawing with them. If you would, could you go to my deviantart page and check out my crayon works and tell me what you think of them please? www.freakyartist.deviantart.com They're not as good as yours yet. But I hope to get as good as you soon! Thanks, Tasha Null
Marco says:
Tasha, I'm missing something. I found your web page but no crayon work. Can you e-mail them to me? (just the crayon ones)

Nancy says:

Hi Nancy, I have seen it previously. There are musical groups and singers that use "Crayola" in their titles. I guess you might say we are a "colorful bunch of people", Thanks for the heads up.
